Kyrgyz Republic: Rural Finance Program (Phase I and II)

The Kyrgyz Rural Finance Program (KRFP) is a Technical Assistance project financed with funds from the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation (BMZ) and managed by KFW and the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic (MoF).
The programme objective is to contribute to the development of rural areas in Kyrgyz Republic by fostering employment and economic growth via improved access to financial services.

Up to date, BFC team has provided technical assistance to six local financial institutions, developing and implementing a set of measures geared towards:

  • Optimization of loan analysis process
  • Increasing efficiency of loan officers
  • Simplifying the credit risk analysis of agricultural MSE
  • Mitigation of risks
  • Increasing loan portfolio volume
  • Optimizing deposit taking strategy
  • Improving staff’s qualification in agro financial analysis
