KfW aims to set up a regional Fund providing equity finance and technical assistance to social entrepreneurs in Asia. To this end KfW has contracted BFC to provide it with country specific market studies, mapping the existing market conditions, potential options for a regional fund, as well as a feasibility study. Since August 2009, BFC has been conducting due diligence studies for ADB’s Trade Finance Facilitation Programme. The assignment currently involves the services of 10 financial experts of BFC’s due diligence team.
Under the World Bank Study “Access to Financial Services in Pakistan” BFC undertook the project “How commercial banks could better serve small businesses in Pakistan” in November 2006—January 2007. The aim of the study was to better understand the financial needs of small businesses and the financial products currently available from commercial banks. (more…)
