A ceremony of diploma presentation as a result of training of bank’s loan specialists took place at Areximbank—Gazprombank Group cjsc. The training was conducted by Business & Finance Consulting, a Swiss company. The project is aimed at delivery of consulting services, targeted at development of lending to small and medium-sized businesses in Areximbank.
The seminars were conducted according to two modules: “Basics of SMEs lending,” during which the bank specialists got familiarized with the internationally accepted basic concepts of lending, as well as various approaches to SMEs lending. After the completion of the theoretical module, loan specialists underwent two-week practical course of SMEs lending.
When presenting the diplomas to bank specialists, BFC’s senior loan advisor Vera Labzina thanked the management of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group cjsc for assistance in arranging the seminars, and participants—for high achievements. “To date the competition between banks is becoming more intensified for attraction of customers and the main argument is the quality service and speed of decision making. I am hopeful that our seminars will have their effect and will really help you in your further professional growth and as a result in winning the hard warfare for attracting new customers.”
In his address, Vigen Barseghyan, a deputy Director General of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group cjsc thanked the BFC company and in particular, its representatives—senior loan advisors Yelena Bevzyuk and Vera Labzina for their high professionalism and invaluable experience acquired by bank’s loan specialists. In conclusion, Vigen Barseghyan mentioned that Areximbank considers the development of small and medium-sized businesses very promising for the Bank. “In 2010, the Bank has already become one of the three leaders in lending to SMEs under CBA’s refinancing program. The rise in the volumes of loans extended to SMEs is also envisaged in the Bank’s Strategy for 2011-2013. The program provides for appropriation of around USD 30 million for SMEs lending purposes, of which USD 10 million will be extended in 2011”, noted Viden Barseghyan at the end of his speech.

The Bank has 15 branches, of which 6 operate in Yerevan and 9 are located in marzes. In 2011 the Bank plans to launch another 4 branches. The loan portfolio of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group cjsc grew by 140% against the previous year. In 2011, the Bank intends to achieve a 50% growth of loan portfolio and expand it to USD 200 million.
