With the purpose to increase the internal capacity of the Leading Bank in Georgia to conduct EE lending in a successful and sustainable manner, BFC was contracted by the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) with resources from Green for Growth Fund to support the Bank in developing and implementing an EE lending strategy and EE loan products.
A research assessment and gap analysis study to assist the European Investment Bank (EIB) in understanding the financing needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the five project countries and identify market failures. The project will involve onsite visits to each of the target countries to conduct research into the relative importance of factors affecting SME development within each country. It will then develop cross-country comparisons that will illuminate potential avenues for future EIB operations in the region.
The Georgian Agriculture Finance Program — funded by KFW with resources from the European Union & the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation & Development — is designed to increase farmer’s access to finance so that they can invest in their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and revive Georgia’s agriculture sector.
BEPS II is carried out to get a better understanding of the current state of the banking system by means of a survey conducted in 31 countries, covering approximately 872 banks. The survey will provide a detailed snapshot of the region’s banking sectors before and after the crisis. (more…)
