BFC implemented MSE Lending operations in four branches of the Universal Bank for Development and Partnership: Kiev, Lvov, Krivoi Rog and Cherkassy.

The key objectives of BFC’s assistance were to develop and strengthen MSE lending operations, improve staff capacity, implement innovative lending approaches and adjust MSE lending operations to the demanding economic situation. A three month pilot phase covered work on human resources development, product development, marketing and lending procedures. The pilot was followed by expansion in new branches, a nine month phase to implement and streamline procedures in the regions.
